The Late Lee Hee-chul's Cause Of Death Was Myocardial Infarction, What Were The Warning Symptoms? Yoo Min-sang: "I Can't Believe It"
[TV Report=Reporter Han Su-ji] As businessman and YouTuber Lee Hee-chul passed away suddenly at the age of 40, the cause of his death is attracting attention.
Lee Hee-chul passed away on the 7th from myocardial infarction. The deceased's younger sibling stated through a media outlet, "He had not been feeling well recently, but he was still healthy. He went on a long journey due to myocardial infarction."
The bereaved family reportedly revealed the cause of death to prevent the spread of speculative articles about the deceased's cause of death.
Earlier, YouTuber Pungja announced Lee Hee-chul's death through his social media account. He said, "I can't believe it even as I write this, but my beloved Seoul Salon Lee Hee-chul has become a star in the sky today. I'm writing this for those who loved him and those who know him but haven't heard the news yet. Please pray that he goes to a good place."
Lee Hee-chul's last words while he was alive are also attracting attention. On December 12st of last year, the deceased wrote on his social media, "The year 31, the year of the ninth, was so difficult that I wondered if it was okay.. To be honest, it was a really difficult year for me, both mentally and physically." He continued, "I know very well that the more you hurt, the more you learn and grow, so I trust that you will overcome it humbly and firmly, and I will gladly send you off with gratitude. I am grateful for this too. I will definitely use the difficulties of 2024 as fertilizer for my health! In the new year of 2024, let's be even healthier than before!!" He received support from many people.
Myocardial infarction, the cause of Lee Hee-chul's death, occurs when any one of the three coronary arteries in the heart is acutely blocked, rapidly reducing the supply of oxygen and nutrients to all or part of the heart, damaging cells and, in severe cases, causing cardiac arrest and death.
Symptoms include chest tightness, squeezing pain, shortness of breath, sweating, and some people may experience abdominal pain. Pain may also occur in the neck, jaw, and shoulders. Vomiting or indigestion may also occur.
The late Lee Hee-chul became known through his appearances in satirical dramas and broadcasts, including KBS 2TV's 'Men Who Do Housework 2' and SBS Love FM's 'Yoo Min-sang's Hungry Radio'.
Yoo Min-sang said on the radio that day, "I have some very sad news. It's such devastating news that I can't believe it even as I'm talking about it," and conveyed his sorrowful feelings, saying, "Wasn't Heechul always by our side with a bright smile and kind words? I really liked it because it was my first regular radio corner."

Myocardial Infarction
Myocardial infarction (MI) or acute myocardial infarction (AMI), commonly known as a heart attack, results from the interruption of blood supply to a part of the heart, causing heart cells to die. This is most commonly due to occlusion (blockage) of a coronary artery following the rupture of a vulnerable atherosclerotic plaque, which is an unstable collection of lipids (cholesterol and fatty acids) and white blood cells (especially macrophages) in the wall of an artery. The resulting ischemia (restriction in blood supply) and ensuing oxygen shortage, if left untreated for a sufficient period of time, can cause damage or death (infarction) of heart muscle tissue (myocardium).
Classical symptoms of acute myocardial infarction include sudden chest pain (typically radiating to the left arm or left side of the neck), shortness of breath, nausea, vomiting, palpitations, sweating, and anxiety (often described as a sense of impending doom). Women may experience fewer typical symptoms than men, most commonly shortness of breath, weakness, a feeling of indigestion, and fatigue. Approximately one-quarter of all myocardial infarctions are "silent", that is without chest pain or other symptoms.
Among the diagnostic tests available to detect heart muscle damage are an electrocardiogram (ECG), echocardiography, cardiac MRI and various blood tests. The most often used blood markers are the creatine kinase-MB (CK-MB) fraction and the troponin levels. Immediate treatment for suspected acute myocardial infarction includes oxygen, aspirin, and sublingual nitroglycerin.
Most cases of STEMI (ST elevation MI) are treated with thrombolysis or percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). NSTEMI (non-ST elevation MI) should be managed with medication, although PCI is often performed during hospital admission. In people who have multiple blockages and who are relatively stable, or in a few emergency cases, bypass surgery may be an option, especially in diabetics.
Heart attacks are the leading cause of death for both men and women worldwide. Important risk factors are previous cardiovascular disease, older age, tobacco smoking, high blood levels of certain lipids (triglycerides, low-density lipoprotein) and low levels of high density lipoprotein (HDL), diabetes, high blood pressure, obesity, chronic kidney disease, heart failure, excessive alcohol consumption, the abuse of certain drugs (such as cocaine and methamphetamine), and chronic high stress levels.

β-blockers after MI: does ABYSS confirm REDUCEd use after all?In contrast to the ABYSS investigators' interpretation of the primary results of their trial, we believe that β-blockers can be safely discontinued in the majority of patients after an uncomplicated myocardial infarction. However, in individuals developing symptoms of angina or heart failure, β-blocker treatment remains one of several guideline-recommended therapies.
